Open Water Swim Opportunities in Colorado 2015
Mile High Multisport, LLC is pleased to announce two open water swim races for the 2015 swim season. The 2nd Annual Open Water Swim Challenge will be held on May 24th and the 3rd Cancer Sucks Freedom Swim will be held July 5th. Distances from .5 to 4.8 miles are available, wet suit and non wet suit divisions. The event is chip timed and there will be age group awards posted but in lieu of Awards we are making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We also host Swim clinics for all ability levels (Novice to Advanced). If you are looking to improve your open water swim experience this season, attending one of these clinics is a must. Information and registration for both races, the swim clinics and open water swimming in general is available via the Mile High Multisport web page under the Open Water Swimming Section. www.milehighmultisport.com
The Mountain Swim Series presents the following three races
Solstice Swim is during Longmont’s Solstice / Kinetics Festival. The festival is from 11am – 9pm and includes a sculpture race,a beer garden, live music by Citizen Dan from 5:30 – 8pm, food, and overall great party for families and individuals of all ages. 500M fun swim (not timed) for all ages, 1.2 mile and 2.4 mile competitive swims.
Carter Lake Crossing is perfect timing for Ironman Boulder warm-up just 3 weeks later. It’s also great warm-up for theHorsetooth 10k swim Sunday August 23, 2015. Most local triathletes have ridden up to Carter Lake and taken plenty of selfies at the res – now it’s time to swim in it!
Chatfield Lake Classic offers more open water swim opportunities for those with later season races, such as 70.3 Worlds and Kona. It’s also a chance for those who typically swim in the gravel pond to get into the main lake. It offers a 500M fun swim, 1.2 and 2.4 mile competitive swims.
Registration is Open!
With an effort to promote our charity, Team Fort Collins, registration is being done through the FirstGiving system. When you click on the appropriate race registration, a window will open up in the FirstGiving system. You will be required to create a FirstGiving login (if you do not already have one). Then you can sign up for the swim, or you can go wild - set up a FirstGiving donation page to promote and monitor your fund raising! The more you raise, the more you’ll win! We are still working on the details of the fund raising goals and prizes, so stay tuned.
