This race is an out-and-back from the South Bay swim beach. The course will start on the beach, go 0.6 miles out, turn around a buoy and return finishing out of the water, on the beach.
New in 2015: Wet suit and non-wet suit divisions! You’ll indicate which you want to participate in during the registration process.

All WOWSA rules apply including swimsuit definitions. Exceptions and clarifications include:
Unlike many open water events, the Team Fort Collins Horsetooth Swim allows no drafting except where unavoidable at the start. If flagrant drafting is observed, that swimmer will be disqualified.
WOWSA Marathon and Channel Rules state swimsuits shall not go beyond the end of the groin or shoulders. The Team Fort Collins Horsetooth Swim allows the swimsuit to extend to the knees. Any swimsuit that does not meet these requirements will be classified as a wet suit swimmer.
First, second and third place, male and female, will receive a medal in each category (wet suit and non-wet suit).
A portion of the the Team Fort Collins Horsetooth Open Water Swim registration fee is just one of the ways Team Fort Collins raises money to fund programming.
We need your help to raise even more funds. Please create a donation page when you register online, and help us continue the fight against drug and alcohol abuse.
