Please note that this is ONLY for 10K swimmers/guests and 10K paddlers. All other paddlers/swimmers should NOT attend.
This meeting is mandatory for all 10K swimmers and their paddlers. Please see here for more information.
Race Day parking will take place at the Hughes Stadium's (CSU football) parking lot. The parking lot will be open off of Dixon Canyon Road/Larimer Country Road 42C. This road heads west from Overland Trail road (a Drive-In Theatre is across the street from the road). Parking will open at 5:00am.
If coming from Mulberry Street, drive 3 miles from the intersection of College (287) and Mulberry. Mulberry ends on a road called Overland Trail (power substation is on the SW corner). At Overland Trail, turn left (south) and head for the football stadium (about 1.5 miles south). There will be two entrances that will be closed to the parking lot, continue past those until you reach Country Rd 42C (Dixon Canyon Road). Again, there will be a drive in theatre on the east side of this intersection. Turn right (west) here and go about 0.4 miles west to the parking area at the south side of the stadium.
There is NO parking for swimmers at the north end of the lake. There is limited parking for spectators at the south end of the lake for the start of the 10K race, but please do not leave your cars there without buying a pass from the park, else expect a ticket. 10K Spectators are welcome to drive to the start to cheer their swimmers on, but they are then asked to please park at the stadium and take a shuttle bus to the finish line.
10K swimmers are permitted to park at South Bay. You will need a parking permit for your car which will be provided to you. It is Strongly recommended/suggested that you carpool with your paddler or some other swimmers. Parking is very limited at South Bay.
The exception to the no parking is paddlers. We are requesting you carpool as much as possible, but there will be parking available for paddlers at the start. Special use permits will be provided at the pre-race dinner. Obviously, if a swimmer is traveling with their paddler, they can park at the south end.
There will be shuttles running from the stadium to Satanka Cove throughout the race. In addition, there will be transportation (busses/vans) running from the finish line back to South Bay for 10K paddlers/swimmers.
