2.4 Mile Race Details
This race is an out-and-back from the South Bay swim beach. The course will start on the beach, go 1.2 miles out, turn around a buoy and return finishing out of the water, on the beach.
Eligibility
The 2.4 Mile event is open to all United States Masters Swmming (USMS) registered swimmers and any USA Swimming (USAS) registered swimmer at least 13 years of age as of race day.
Rules
Swimmers must wear the race swim cap.
USMS swimmers may register as either a 'wetsuit' or 'non-wetsuit' swimmer. Wetsuits are not allowed for USAS swimmers.

USMS swimwear rules apply. USMS rules available here. The swimsuit rules are in a state of flux. Please check the website as the race approaches for the latest rules. In addition to this list, the Horsetooth Swim has the following restriction: both men and women are allowed suits that go to just above the knees (jammer style) and may cover the shoulders as long as it is not made from material that gives floatation or traps air. Torso-type suits are legal.
USAS swimwear rules apply. Female suits may have shoulders with short sleeves. Male swimmers may not wear "tops" and their jammers may extend to just above the knee. USA Swimming suit details.
Awards
USMS first, second and third place male and female will receive a medal.
USAS first, second and third place male and female will receive a medal.
All participants who complete their race will receive a finisher's certificate.

Sunday, August 18, 20135:30 am - Check in opens
6:30 am - All swimmers checked in
6:45 am - Swimmer meeting
7:00 am - Race starts
8:45 am - Awards presentation in tadem with 1.2 mile swim
